Ghost Votive Workshop

Come pinch some spooooooky ghosts with us! We all love spooky season, and this is a perfect way to spend the evening with your gouls and goblins. This will be our third year offering this workshop and it is all ways a blast! We will offer two workshops on two different weekends to get all of the options in to enjoy this class! All participants will learn some new hand-building slab and pinch skills and each will make a ghost votive during the session. Once finished and dried after the class session, our team at Papavero will glaze and fire them for you in a nice shiny white glaze. Spooky Transfer Mugs!

Saturday, October 4th. 4:00 - 5:30

Fall is right around the corner and we all love when the weather makes a warm cozy beverage so perfect, so join us in the studio to make some fun decorated mugs!

Participants will learn some slab building techniques and will make some mugs that will be ready for that coffee, tea, or hot toddy. We will then use underglaze transfers to decorate our mugs with some super fun patterns. Add a handle and you’re ready for your new favorite mug! Once finished and dried after the class session, our team at Papavero will glaze and fire your pieces for you in a clear glaze that is food safe. Dia De Los Muertos Sugar Skull Glazing Workshop

October 17th and October 18th (two options, one Friday and one Saturday $30.00

Sometimes we just want to sit and take it easy, add a little color, and spend some time with our friends. This is the perfect workshop, celebrating spooky season and the day of the dead (November 1-2). The tradition of decorating sugar skulls is definitely a family and community event, so come join in a group where we can decorate an ornament together and glaze a fun, colorful sugar skull!

Choose from a number of design options of premade ornaments, all made here at Papavero, and use colorful glaze to personalize yours. Participants will choose an ornament to glaze, and for an additional fee can choose a second. After the class session, our team at Papavero will fire your pieces for you, making them shiny and colorful, letting you know when they are ready for pickup. Fall Leaf Texture Dish

October 10th, 5:00 - 6:30

$50 per person

Not everything in October needs to be spooky, but when the leaves start to change you know that fall is here! Bring your own leaves, or use the ones that we bring to texture clay and cut out some clay leaves! These will then be turned into sweet little leaf impressed dishes, perfect for all of those little spots in your house that need that perfect little catch all.

Participants will learn some new hand-building slab skills and each will make a small dish during the workshop. Garlic Grater Dish and Sourdough Workshop

Saturday November 8th @ 4:00 - 6:00

$60 per person

We all know that there is nothing better than fresh warm bread, except for a warm fresh loaf of Sourdough bread!

Participants will learn some new hand-building slab skills and each will make one small garlic grating dish during the workshop that will be the perfect size for your garlic and olive oil dipping. While we are finishing the dishes, we will have the plesure of tasting samples of bread made by (still to be determined) and learn about the sourdough process. All participants will go home with a starter that we start here in the studio, and learn to feed when you get home. Who knows, this may be the very same starter that you pass down to your grandkids! Amazing!

Once finished and dried after the class session, our team at Papavero will glaze and fire your pieces for you. Garlic Grating Dish and Sourdough Workshop

Holiday Collage Card Party!

We all want to make holiday cards when we get to this point in the year, so. why not do it together with a group of great people and collage a super interesting and unique card worthy of a frame! Come cut up vintage magazines, paper materials, fabric, and found images to piece together a story telling card for the season! Bring your own materials to add, we will have a pile to sit through as well, bring your favorite scissors, and get snipping! This is a non clay project, and we are so excited to host a mixed media type workshop, that I am sure that there will be more to come! We will discuss digitizing your cards so they can be added to your social media, emailed to friends, uploaded to print services and more! Bring your friends, make new friends, or spend time with your family in the studio! We will have two available workshop days for this project, so choose the one that suits!

Snowman Votive Workshop

Friday, December 12th. 5:00pm, 60$ per person

For our second candle holder workshop, Come join us for a sweet little workshop here at Papavero making a snowman (or woman) votive. Participants will each be able to build a snowman votive, add a bit of color, embellishments, and personalization during the workshop, and when they are finished and glazed through the kiln, they’ll be ready to find a cozy little corner of the house!

Participants will learn some new hand-building skills and each will make a votive, (about 4-5” in height) during the session. Once finished and dried after the class session, our team at Papavero will glaze and fire your ornaments for you. For our third seasonal candle holder workshop, come join us for a fun workshop making a holiday tree votive cover. Participants will each be able to build a holiday tree votive, add some fun festive embellishments and personalization during the workshop, and when they are finished and glazed through the kiln, they’ll be ready to find a festive spot with your holiday ornaments.

Participants will put some new hand-building slab skills to work and each will make a votive, (about 5-6” in height) during the session. Candlestick Head Workshop

Friday, March 14th. 4:00pm, 60$ per person

It’s a great time during these frigid months to bring a little warm light into the house! In our first candle holder workshop, we will be making head/bust candlesticks! Give them a bit of personality, give them some character, and let it live on your table to spark some conversation. These little guys or gals will surely be a hit at your next dinner party.

Transfer Bowl Workshop

Come make some small little decorative and functional bowls with us! This is such a fun process to add some punch and liveliness to these little dishes. Participants will learn some basic hand-building skills and each will make a pair of small bowls decorated with pattern transfers during the session. We will decorate with underglaze transfers, Kind of like a temporary tattoo, to add a super fun surface decoration the will get bright and shiny once glazed. “Go Nuts On Your Donuts”, an ornament making class!

Friday, November 22nd, 5:30 - 7:00 pm

Come join us for a sweet little workshop here at Papavero making Donut Ornaments!!! Participants will be able to build onto a pre-made donut (we do the heavy lifting for you) in whatever flavor you’d like! Add some frosting? Sure! Need some sprinkles? Absolutely! We will add color, texture, and fun to our donuts during the workshop, and when they are finished and glazed through the kiln, they’ll be ready to put on the tree! How sweet is that?!

Participants will learn some new hand-building skills and each will make a donut ornament "(about 3” in diameter) during the session. Handmade Chia Pet/planter workshop

We all remember those funky little chia pets from when we were younger. Now you can make your own!! Come join us in the studio and spend an evening making a fun little critter plant pet, or even turn it into a little planter for succulents or spring starters. Lets usher in the green of spring with some fun little guys for our homes! No experience necessary, all instruction, tools, and materials will be provided. Finished work will be fired by our great people here at the studio and we’ll let you know when they’re ready for pickup. Participants will go home with a pack of chia seeds ready to become a chia pet! See you in the studio!
